Poll: Sport Quotas in SA

Based on a recent survey done by the SA Institute of Race Relations, over 70% of Black South Africans are not in favor of picking players on any criteria except merit.

They survey they conducted included 2 245 people, of whom 1 757 were black and it was done across all 9 provinces.

Overall 77% of South Africans were in favor of teams picked purely on merit. Of the black people that formed part of the survey 74.2% agreed that this should be the case.

As for the rest of the population, the people who agreed on merit-based selection looked like this:
Coloureds: 87%
Asians: 94.9%
Whites: 84.3%
